Our neighbor, Carole Richter, brought us over a plate of these cookies. They are like the old-fashioned peanut butter cookies, the ones I grew up with. She said it is her grandmother's recipe.
Carole's Peanut Butter Cookies
Heat oven to 325 °
Grease baking sheets, or use parchment paper or Silpat.
2 c sifted flour
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp baking soda
Sift above together
1 c Crisco
1 c peanut butter
1 c granulated sugar
1 c brown sugar (firmly packed)
2 eggs
1 T milk
1. Put the last six ingredients into a mixer bowl. Beat at medium speed for 2 minutes.
2. Add the sifted dry ingredients. Beat at medium speed about 1 minute or until well blended.
3. Shape into balls. Place on baking sheet. Flatten in a criss-cross pattern with a fork.
Bake 15 to 20 minutes.
