This recipe is from my old aluminum recipe box. I used to have an electric food drier. I dried the apples I got from my husband's cousin's farm each fall.

Cider Apple Pie

pastry ready for a two-crust pie

4 c boiling cider
3 c dried apples
1/4 c maple syrup
1/2 tsp cinnamon
2 T flour
1/2 c raisins
1 T lemon juice
3 T butter

1. Pour the boiling cider of apples in a bowl. Let sit for an hour.
2. Drain apples, reserving 1/2 c of the liquid.
3. Combine drained apples, syrup, cinnamon, flour, raisins. Place in bottom pie shell.
4. Combine lemon juice with the 1/2 c of the soaking liquid. Pour over pie filling.
5. Dot with butter.
6. Cover with top crust; cut vents.

Bake at 400 ° for 40 minutes or until apples are tender.
