This dessert was sent to me by Ellen Shelton. Ellen and her husband, Jim, worked with us as National Park Rangers in Maine during the 90s. We still keep in touch, and try to get together at least once a year.

 

Marissa's Pear Dessert

Butter a 9-inch Pyrex casserole dish

Step 1

1. Peel 3 pears and slice or cut in half.
2. Lay pears in dish in an attractive display pattern.

Step 2

In a blender, combine:

1/4 c melted butter
3/4 c milk
3 eggs
1/4 tsp salt
2 tsp vanilla
1/3 c sugar
1/3 c flour

 Blend and pour the mix over the pears. 

 Bake 350 ° 40-45 minutes

You may need to protect edges toward end of baking time. 

 Top with whipped cream (optional) and a little ground nutmeg.
