A recipe from my old aluminum recipe box, another one I made often when my kids were small. Below is the original recipe. Like so many recipes in my box, I didn't bother with step by step instructions. Anyone who baked a lot, and everyone did, knew how to combine basic ingredients.

Oatmeal Peanut Butter Cookies
1 c shortening
1 c br sugar
3/4 c white sugar
2 eggs
1 c peanut butter
2 c flour
2 tsp soda
1 c oatmeal
1. Cream shortening and sugars together.
2. Beat in eggs
3. Stir in peanut butter.
4. In another bowl, mix together flour, soda and oatmeal.
5. Stir dry mix into shortening mix.
6. Drop by teaspoon onto ungreased cookie sheets. Press in criss-cross design with a fork.
Bake at 350° until edges brown.
