Donna Archambault is in my neighborhood knitting group. Last week she brought this recipe to pass around. She said she's been making this cake for years. It's one of her standbys.

Pumpkin Pie Cake

Preheat oven to 350°

Grease a 9x13 cake pan

1 large can pumpkin (1 lb, 13 oz)
12 oz can of evaporated milk
3 eggs
1 tsp nutmeg
1/2 tsp ginger
1/2 tsp cloves
2 tsp cinnamon
1 and 1/2 c sugar

1 box yellow cake mix
1 c chopped walnuts
2 sticks butter, melted

1. Mix spices and sugar with the pumpkin.
2. Add milk and slightly beaten eggs.
3. Pour the above mixture into the pan.
4. Sprinkle the dry cake mix over the pumpkin mix. Pat down with the back of a spoon.
5. Sprinkle walnuts over the cake mix.
6. Drizzle the melted butter over all.

Bake for 50 minutes to 1 hour.
