Jane Hahn, who is in my exercise class, told me about these. She uses them in salads. You could also use them tossed in a bowl of mixed nuts, in a Chex mix, or by themselves as a party snack.

Spiced Pecans
1 c pecans
1 c warm water
2 T sugar
1 T chili powder
1/8 tsp red pepper, or to taste
Soak pecans for 10 minutes drain.
1. In plastic bag put sugar, chili powder, red pepper.
2. Put pecans in bag and shake to coat.
3. Place on a slightly greased cookie sheet (I use Reynolds Release).
Bake at 350 degrees for 10 minutes.
You may turn them over after about 5 minutes. I don't always remember to do that. They still turn out fine.
