Wanda Moran worked with me at Acadia National Park, also. She is a good old-fashioned cook, a Mainer all her life. Rhubarb grows along the fence and behind the shed in most of the northern East and Midwest. Everybody makes rhubarb dishes in the spring. Wanda makes her rhubarb pie like my grandma did.

Wanda's Rhubarb Pie

enough crust for double crust pie

4 c chopped rhubarb
2 c sugar
3 eggs
1 T milk
1/4 tsp nutmeg

1. Put bottom crust in pie pan.
2. Mix filling and put in pan.
3. Put on top crust and pierce it for release of hot air.
4. Bake at 350° for an hour and 15 minutes.
