Carol Harris volunteered one summer at Acadia National Park while we were there. Our friend Claire and her housemates threw a party on night, and Carol brought this. I had never had scalloped cabbage, and it was delicious. I had several helpings.
Scalloped Cabbage
1medium head cabbage, shredded
2 c medium white sauce
1 c grated cheese
1 c buttered crumbs
1. Cook cabbage until barely tender, 5 minutes, in small amount of boiling, salted water.
2. Place cabbage in greased baking dish, cover with the white sauce and top with cheese and crumbs.
3. Bake until hot and browned — 400° for about 10 minutes.
